Our Vision

The Vi-based Vaccines for Asia Initiative (VIVA) is established to reduce typhoid fever mortality and morbidity in infants and children in typhoid endemic countries through accelerating the adoption of Vi vaccines and the technical development, clinical evaluation, licensure and sustainable introduction of affordable Vi conjugate vaccines.

Our Goal

VIVA's goal is to reduce typhoid fever mortality and morbidity in infants and children in countries that are afflicted by typhoid through the accelerating adoption of existing typhoid vaccines (Vi polysaccharide vaccine), and by developing a new and affordable Vi conjugate vaccines.

Our Objectives

VIVA undertakes a wide spectrum of multi-disciplinary activities from vaccine development to advocacy for the use of typhoid vaccines.
